Square Lending Inc. (including its affiliates, collectively “Square Lending”) is registered as a Mortgage Brokerage and a Mortgage Administrator, and may also act as a Principal Lender. We are committed to protecting your privacy in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and all applicable provincial laws, including those set by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA).
Accountability: Square Lending Inc. is accountable for all personal information under its control, including information shared with our affiliates and transferred to third-party processors. We encourage you to review this Policy whenever you use our services.
Changes to Privacy Policy: We may update this Policy periodically. We will post the latest version on our website and revise the “Last Updated” date. If we make any significant changes to how we collect, use, or disclose your personal information, we will notify you and obtain your new express consent before those changes apply to previously collected information.
We collect information directly from you, and from credit reporting agencies, employers, and financial institutions. We may also collect information from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), government records, lawyers, appraisers, insurers, realtors, and other third parties as necessary to process your mortgage or administer your loan.
- Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, and residential address.
- Sensitive Financial & Property Information: This includes, but is not limited to, income, employment history, tax documents, credit history and score, property details, and your Social Insurance Number (SIN) only when required for accurate credit matching.
- Technical Data: Information about how you interact with our website (e.g., browser type, usage patterns, and device information).
We use your personal information for the following specific and legitimate purposes:
- To Fund, Process, and Administer Mortgage Loans:As a Brokerage, to assess eligibility and secure financing. As a Lender, to fund the loan directly. As an Administrator, to manage the ongoing loan account, process payments, enforce security/mortgage terms, and handle collections or default management.
- Mortgage Administration Services:To provide loan servicing functions to third-party lenders and investors on whose behalf we act as Administrator.
- To Facilitate Compliance and Auditing:To comply with requirements set by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) and to support internal and external regulatory compliance reviews.
- For Marketing:To provide relevant information or offers. You may opt-out at any time.
- SIN Usage:Your SIN is collected solely for accurate identity matching for credit reporting. Providing your SIN is voluntary, but may be required by certain financial institutions to proceed with your application. It isnot used as a general identifier.
By submitting your information, you consent to its use and disclosure for the purposes described. We will seek express consent where required.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share data as necessary with the following categories of recipients:

Affiliate and Service Provider Accountability: Square Lending Inc. remains responsible for personal information transferred to third parties for processing and requires those parties to provide a comparable level of protection.
Your personal information may be stored or processed on servers located outside of Canada (e.g., in the United States). We require all third parties to maintain a comparable level of protection.
Risk Disclosure: By consenting, you acknowledge that your data may be subject to the laws of that foreign jurisdiction, including lawful access by foreign governmental authorities (such as under the U.S. Patriot Act).
Security: We maintain administrative, technical (e.g., encryption), and physical safeguards to protect your information. Should a material breach occur, we will comply with all legal obligations by notifying you and the OPC as required.
Retention: We retain personal information only as long as necessary. For financial records and application files, this is typically a minimum of seven (7) years to satisfy legal and regulatory requirements.
Non-Personal Information: We collect non-personal information about how you use our Site to maintain and improve our services.
Third-Party Analytics: We use automated devices and applications, such as Google Analytics (with an opt-out available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), to evaluate Site usage. These analytics providers may combine the information they collect about you on our Site with other information collected from your use of other sites.
